I'm a healthy 22 y/o female, and for the last month Ive been having to constantly clear my throat after i eat a meal...
What could be going on? It feels like theres just mucus build up, but im not bringing up any substances at all....
I have this same symptom. I have always attributed it to reflux/indigestion. I didn't feel any heartburn, but I've read that not everyone feels the burn, but have other symptoms. I noticed when I took prilosec that I didn't have to clear my throat nearly as much. someone also told me once that some people produce more "mucus" when they eat and therefore have to clear their throat more often. If it is really bothering you, maybe you should see and ENT or maybe try an OTC med. Hope this helps. It's good to see someone else with the same symptoms.
I always thought I had allergies. However, I wasn't allergic to any foods. My allergist told me since I have had a lot of drainage this year it could have developed into Gastroesophageal reflux disease. My only symptom is clearing my throat after I eat. I do bring up mucous but it's clear. I can't tell if it's draining from my sinuses or coming up from my stomach. She told me to try Prilosec for a couple months and I should be ok. I haven't tried it yet because the only symptom is the clearing of my throat...no pain, no burning.
