DRISTAN.......

I'm addicted to Dristan and have been since I was 15 or 16yrs old. I'm 19 now and its getting much to out of hand. It is now at the point that If I dont use it and I get congested I begin to experience nausea, light-headed, cold sweats and headaches. Although, the dristan may not be the cause of those symptoms, I really only experience them when I find myself getting congested and am trying not to use it. I have recently disconered a product called "Rhinostat". What are your proffesstional opions on this product? I have not used this product yet.

I was addicted as well- so hard to get off of it.  My ent prescribed a 5 day steriod pac (forget the name) and I was able to get off the Afrin.  I had been on it for 5 years.  I still use afrin occasionally and have taken the steriod pac  a second time, but at least I am not addicted anymore.  It is awful not be be able to breath.  Also, the emt recommended nasal surgery to remove excess tissue and straighten out a deviated septum.  there may be a similar underlying problem with you.
