Difficulty swallowing and earache

I woke up this morning with a really stiff neck and shoulders and a headache, and when I tried to swallow anything (including saliva), it felt like there was something trying to stop it, like my tonsils were blocking my throat or something, and it hurts a lot. Also, when I swallow, my ears start to ache and on and off today sounds have been muted. I took some Aleive, and my headache went away, but I'm still sore in my neck, upper back, and shoulders. My throat also hurts when I yawn.

I've been pretty sneezy the past couple of days, and last night I got plently of sleep and I'm exhausted and I feel really weak. The only time I can swallow and it doesn't hurt is when I take sips of water with my face parrallel with the floor.

Hi everyone

I am in a state of dispair....It hurts so much to swallow and has done for 3 weeks now. I have seen 3 different doctors who have all said its virul but its driving me mad and so so painful. Its affecting my ear aswell. Its only on the left side and feels like its somewhere between my ear and throat.

Tried antibiotics and antiinflamatory drugs.

Help!! As im supposed to be going on holiday in a week and a half

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Go get examined for otitis media with effusion (serous otitis media).  Prescriptions for nasal steroids and OTC saline nasal rinses can help.
