Dr on the web!!!!

Dr on the web!!!!

Hi,
Im sure everyone is busy and I appreciate we have just had the holidays but is anybody else disapointed at the response from the Doctor on the web?

I have posted the same question 3 times over the last couple of months and got no response from any Doctor. Some posts seem to have a constant dialogue but most have no response from anybody with a medical background. On the other side Im sure it has been helpful to some people.
For me it was a let down,I dont want a newsletter I just wanted a thought or a comment.

Tony.

Sorry you did not get your question answered; I think there is some confusion because SOME of the forums on Medhelp are "ask-the-doctor" forums where doctors answer all questions, but some--including this ENT forum--are NOT staffed by doctors and are simply for ordinary people to share information. On the main page you will see two big groups of forums, the ask-the-doctor ones and the "community" ones like this one.

There are two or three professionals who sometimes post here on the ENT forum (an audiologist and one or two MDs), but they do so as individuals, strictly as their time and knowledge and interest allow, and not with ANY responsibility to answer questions. We are grateful for their participation but we cannot expect them to answer any specific questions.

If you didn't get an answer to your question, it simply means that no one saw it (and/or had time to reply) who happened to know enough to feel comfortable replying to it. I know it's disappointing not to get an answer, but don't take it personally; it's just that it wasn't something that somebody had personal experience or knowledge about.

Try some other forums, and/or ask your own doctor. There is lots of info out there and you should be able to get an answer somewhere! Don't give up.

Also, sometimes re-posting here with a different or more specific subject line, and/or giving more specific info in your post, will prompt someone to reply. I don't know which posts were yours, but sometimes posts are too general for anyone to feel they can answer them helpfully.

I am not a doctor or medical professional at all, just someone with personal experience of dizziness, so I answer some of those posts when I have time, which I don't always.

Best of luck to you and keep trying.

Nancy T.
