EAR PAIN, HURTS TO SWALLOW

I HAVE HAD A SEVERE COLD FOR ABOUT 5 DAYS, W/ A BAD COUGH
MY RIGHT EAR IS HURTING AND I CAN BARELY SWALLOW.
WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND?

I am having severe pain deep inside my right ear/right side of my throat for the past 2 days. Only on one side. I am scared to swallow my saliva also.
Pleasemhelp. Ihad viral thorat infection 2 weeks ago but recovered completely. It was the worst infection I have ever had.

Try warm honey with lemon, just continually sipping it.  If the pain is so bad you need to go to the ER, they will prescribe a lidocaine type gel, which doesn't work that great. So don't go there, unless you can't breathe or are bleeding or have a high fever. Also, use a saline gargle (warm salt water) every 4-6 hours.  I've had the worst sore throats (agony) so I know what I'm talking about. At any rate, go to your doctor for your ear/throat pain if it persists. Good luck.

i have also got a pain on the right side of my neck and it also hurts when i swallow :( i havent had any throat infections so i dont know what could have caused this!!!
has anyone found anything that helps with it?????

I have had pain at the back of my neck everytime that i swallow.  I am a dentist.  One of my front desk receptionist has the same problem> The symptoms started on yesterday evening.  She has been complaining about her jaw getting tired when she eats for the past couple of days.  What the heck is this anyway!!?? IT HURTS!!

I went to the doctor because of the same problem. It hurt to swallow...like knives stabbing the back of my throat. And the left side of my throat was noticably double the size of the right.The pain moved into my jaw and ear. They gave me a shot in my butt actually of antibiotics and I am taking Clindamycin 3 times a day and A LOT of advil for the pain. It is slowly decreasing.

i need help then how tell me that i have bad my ear both and hurt a throat.. since 3 day.. I did drink a tea/honey/lemon and i had trouble sleep problem because pain my ear and a hurt throat
