Yeah, I saw all your journal postings, the CT pic and the MRI. The styloid is elongated on the side, and if it is giving symptoms, why not do the surgery rather than be ambivalent about it?
I would like to know why your ENT decided not to operate. Or you are not having any symptoms now?
Best,
TA
Hi Tom,
to see my TC, just click on my name in this post (luca73) then scroll down the page where you see "Journal Entries" and then click on "See All". It will bring you to my journal where you can see evolution of it. I'm most probably going to have another TC to see if the ossification is progressing or is still. Any comment/experience appreciated.
Can you pls post the link here. I will try to see the pics.
Usually it is not a big deal. Once you are sure you can feel the tip of the styloid process through the tonsil (of the same side, of course) and it gives the same pain, one does a tonsillectomy, and cuts the tip of the styloid process, and lets the muscles and soft tissues cover the stump.

Hello!
I also have Eagles syndrome. The symptoms were bad for years, went away, and now it's back. The pain feels like a really bad swollen gland on my neck, and headaches, an more. Really difficult to find answers isn't it? Years ago I saw a Dr. at UCLA who wanted to do surgery(of course). But it's seems no one really knows what the deal really is. I felt like he was excited to do the surgery because of the rarity. But not convinced he REALLY knew what was going on. Let me know if you know ANYTHING!
Thanks.
