Ear Problem

I apparently had too much earwax in my left ear so I went to the doctor to have it cleaned out. They used this tool where they squirt water into my ears to try and wet the earwax so it falls out. They applied it to both ears, but more so to my left ear since that was the problem ear.

The doctor says that both ears are pretty clean now, but my left ear (the original problem ear) is now super sensitive. My right ear can hear a bit (only when I make the noise close to my right ear), but regularly, the left ear pretty much dominates. It almost feels as if I'm deaf in my right ear. I also hear way better in my left ear than I ever did before. The sounds coming into my left ear almost seem too loud. My right ear feels plugged even though the doctor says my right ear is pretty clean (it was pretty clean to begin with).

So my question is this: What should I do? Is it possible the doctor harmed parts of my ear while squirting the water (squirting too hard?) so now my right ear is injured?

The Yoga Pranayam (breathing exercises) to help with ear problem are:

Bhastrika - Take a long deep breath into the lungs(chest not tummy) via the nose and then completely breathe out through the nose.Duration upto 5 minutes.

Anulom Vilom - Deep Breath-in through left nostril keeping right nostril closed
then - Breath-out through right nostril keeping left nostril closed
then -Deep Breath-in through right nostril keeping left nostril closed
then - Breath-out through left nostril keeping right nostril closed
and repeat this cycle for upto 20  minutes twice a day(maximum 60 min/day).

Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.
Duration : 5 times
Do the pranayam and your ear problem will slowly improve. Only by doing you will discover the power of breath.

all is pure speculation at this point. You need to get tested.

And when I say super hearing in my left ear, I mean it's way too sensitive. Sounds that would not have bugged me before are suddenly hurting my ear. For instance, it hurts when someone slams the left car door because my left ear can pick it up really easily. Is this just because I just finished getting my ears cleaned? I don't think it's normal to be hearing this loud, I don't think I ever heard so loud that it hurt.

They were cleaning my left ear when this happened. It's possible that the right eardrum can get ruptured while cleaning the left? I can still hear from the right ear, but I have almost super hearing from the left.

You need to go see an audiologist and have your hearing evaluated.

Otoscopy
Tympanometry
audiometry

all should be performed.

What probbably happened was your right ear drum was ruptured during the cleaning process.

Yes, the ear drum normally does repair itself over time...

But get your self checked out, because if you do have a rupture, you do not want that ear exposed to water/bacteria etc.
