Ear pain

Someone please help I have had ear pain for nine years on and off always in the right ear never in the left.  The pain is in the ear and all around it and down by the Jaw when it comes on it is really bad  sometimes making me cry.  painkillers do not help and it doesn’t go away till I’ve been to sleep. So it can last all day.  Anything can bring it on the wind.yawning.scratching. touching the ear. Eating. I have been to the doctors he said I should have it syringe that didn’t work then he sent me to the hospital and I had another syringe that didn’t work either. He finally sent me to ENT  Who then told me to look left and right up and down and open and close my mouth.  Couldn’t find nothing wrong there so put it down to teeth grinding at night. they made me a gumshield and sent me on my way I have since been back I few times  but they just keep giving me gum Shields. They have never given me texts for example MRI. X-rays.scans. nothing like that. If anybody has suffered or is suffering with the same thing I would like to hear this story please

good idea to check out by trace18.  My husband had something similar and he had cellulitis from staph on his skin.  Have you been to an ENT?

I had a very similar thing in January. But my pain only started in the afternoons & was very intense around my left ear & along the jaw. 3 Drs & a hospital visit couldn’t find a problem.  A 2nd stronger round of antibiotics did help eventually.
Do you have any little sores that have come up on the same side?
A ENT specialist diagnosed mine as shingles, unfortunately it was too late to have the necessary needle for it.
I Still get occasional pain there now. That can last 4-6 months after the occurrence called post neuralgia.......
