Ear perforation

I have been diagnosed with an ear perforation following an ear infection.  I was given antibiotics and drops for my ear.  It has
been 2 weeks, I have no pain, but my ear seems to feel "clogged".
When I swallow or yawn, it seems to open up an "pop".  Is it normal for my ear to feel clogged?  I have read that it can take up to 2 months for a perforation to heal.  What should I do?

unfortunately, there is not much you can do while your eardrum is repairing itself.  my mother recently had her ear drum pop due to a bad infection and her doctor told her the only thing she should do as it heals is not to go swimming or have her ear underwater, since water can get in through the perforation and cause major problems.

this problem will heal on it's own, and if you are young, it will probably heal relatively quickly.  my brother also lived with a perforated eardrum for several years due to tubes being placed incorrectly in his ear when he was child and his ear has since healed and he has no lasting damage.  just sit it out, as boring as it may be, and your ear should heal just fine.

Thanks for you comments, I am 40, but can you tell me if it is normal for my
hearing to be "muffled".  It is like talking with my finger in my ear.

I have a perforation right next to my ear. every now and then it gets swollen and some white stuff comes out of the hole and it stinks. people use to tell me that it was hereditary since i was born with it.but a few years ago a doctor told me that it was going to give me problems.
