Ear pressure

I am new to this forum and really ear issues in general. Basically, I am writing because I have had a lot of ear pressure in both ears for the last week. However, it is often worse on the right than the left. I used to have mild to moderate allergies and I would get about two sinus infections a year, althought I havent had one in a year. My ears never really botherred me much with them. Well now my ears are botherring me with no other symptoms of sinus or allergy. I went to the md on friday and he gave me a decongestant to try and as of now it is not helping. Once or twice I have heard ringing and sometimes I feel sort of spaced out. I am a 25 yo male and in good health. Has anyone had a similar experience? Could tension headaches cause this(i get a lot of headaches and muscle stiffness from stress)? Could the ear pressure be causing the spacey feeling? Are brain problems the possible culprit; can tumors cause such a thing? Any suggestions for relief?

Hmm... have you ever had a build up of earwax? kinda gross i know, but once I had too much because when i used a q-tip I pushed it in too far, it became packed together, and then I was on a plane and I had very bad pressure in one ear in particular.

I had to go to the doc & they had to use a "power washer" type device to clean it out - then I was all set. If the decongestant still doesn't work, that might be it.

On the other hand - if you don't have enough ear wax, there could be an infection.

May also be "swimmers ear" - you may get too much moisture in there..

I would visit your doc again if it does't go away...
