Ear tubes appropriate ?

I have been having the following symptoms since last August 09 and they seem to be getting worse:  Both ears completely blocked, yawning is the only way i can open them up, then they block right back up.  Balance is off while sitting, standing, walking - not true vertigo, but a bouncing, rocking sensation, like i'm on a boat.  I've been to an ENT, and now being followed by an Neurotologist who put me on prednisone for a week, with no help, then put me Dyrenium, a diuretic, for 2 weeks that i had to stop, it made my muscles twitch, muscle weakness, even though i was drinking plenty of fluid.  I've put a call into the Doc on monday, left a message in regards to the possibility of placement of ventilation tubes.  Also tested for autoimmune inner ear disease recently and awaiting results from that test.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated, just want my balance back as its causing me undue anxiety.  Thanks Nick
