Hello,
I went to see a doc this morning for my right ear. I have had a cold for about a week and last night my right ear plugged up, start ringing and discharging fluid so I figured I had an infection. The doc said that the right ear was indeed infected although it had no wax build up and the left had a large amount of wax build up wasn't infected. He told me that I should get a ear wax removal kit for the left when I have the time. He also prescribed a Z-pack antibiotics, Neomycin-Polymyxin-HC Ear Supspension drops for the ear and some codeine type syrup for my throat.
Anyway's, I didn't start the ear wax removal kit on the left ear today but I did take the other drugs and some advil in hopes of getting some good sleep. I just woke up a bit ago with my left ear now ringing extremely loud (this was supposed to be the non-infected ear). This is 16 hours after I saw the doc so I'm just a little surprised if this ear happens to be infected as well. I wasn't exactly instilled with confidence with this docs capabilities but I figure it wouldn't matter much if I could just get some antibiotics.
I read that it may be possible that the antibiotics could trigger the ringing.
Seems kinda odd that the left ear could become infected this fast after seeing the doc but that seems most likely to me. Should I go back to a doctor or just use the prescribed ear drops for me right ear on my left as well? Keep in mind this left ear is the one that has the wax build up so I'm not sure how the ear drops will work with that in the way. It's a multi-day process to go through the removal kit I bought as well.
The ringing, at this point, has dissipated some but is still very loud. And it's got some slight pressure that is annoying at this point.
Any thoughts here are appreciated.
Thanks
