Foreign Body Sensation Mystery

Foreign Body Sensation Mystery

I am a 28 year old male. I've been suffering with the sensation of something stuck in my throat for about 8 years now. It is only on the left side and feels like it's below the tonsil.  When I stick my finger in my throat, I can feel a few bumps which seem to be where the sensation originates.  However, I have trouble pinpointing it exactly because of its location.  Also, these bumps are also on the other side and I believe typical of the lingual tonsil.

I've had the surface of my left tonsil lasered (cryptolysis) to treat tonsil stones, but it doesn't seem to have solved the issue. I returned to the same ENT to have part of the area below the tonsils lasered. This helped with the sensation but 3 months later is as bad as it was before.

My ENT has suggested I get my tonsils removed. I've been told that my tonsils are large. I'm skeptical of getting a tonsillectomy because the issue seems to originate below the tonsils.  Could my left tonsil be causing a foreign body sensation BELOW it?

The area seems to get worse when I drink alcohol and eat wheat, but has never completely solved itself even when I abstain from them.

I am wondering if anyone has any advice or experience they can share with me.
