Fungal Frontal Sinus infection with a Negative CT scan?

My main symptom is a unrelenting tight forehead sensation that leaves me in a daze & hungover. It feels like I'm wearing a helmet that's way too tight & is just debilitating & miserable. It also causes neuro-cognitive deficits such as major brain fog. An ENT at an Academic hospital has diagnosed me with a Frontal Fungal Sinusitis infection, although I have a negative CT scan. He has tried immunotherapy, various antibiotics & antifungal nasal rinses to no avail. He said surgery is a possibility, but surgeon couldn't guarantee that sinus surgery would relief the constant tight forehead sensation.

MyIs it possible to have Frontal Fungal Sinusitis infection with a negative CT scan? Can it be virulent & recalcitrant, if so, what is the best treatment? Should I be looking for other possibilities to diagnose this main problematic symptom?

Your suggestions would be most appreciated.

I am having some of the same symptoms. The pressure in my head and ears is so bad that it has affected my memory and thinking.I had a deviated septum done 9 years ago.The ent wants to do another one and give me flonase and allergy shots.I did not go back because I don't want to be on nasal sprays or other meds for life.

I have something similar.  My ENT ordered a CT that shows a badly deviated septum but there is no explanation for the left side nasal pressure, maxillary sinus pressure, and ear pain that makes me feel off balance.  I've had a brain MRI that was negative.  My ENT says the surgery will fix the symptoms, but I've never had sinus issues in 42 years until I caught a very bad cold 4 months ago.  My ENT didn't even do any cultures - he seems fixated on surgery.  I'm going for a second opinion and I think you should, too, if you can.
