Hardened Mucus Stuck Behind Soft Palette

So for quite some time now I've felt like there is a giant mass of something stuck up behind my soft palette. I'm pretty sure its like mucus getting stuck up in there or not draining right. Sometimes I can use my tongue to sort of suck on the back of my throat (like you're making a clicking noise but with your mouth shut) and it occasionally dislodges this nasty mucus ball that varies in size but is almost always hard mucus with a little bit of runny stuff with it. I recently went to the dentist and he had made a comment about my tonsils being really big and that I should see about getting them out. Could my tonsils be blocking the pathway down my throat that my mucus drains through? I'm thinking that they might be so big that the mucus that cant drain properly and thats where I'm getting that hard stuff from because its just been sitting there. Neti pots dont do anything either because i dont feel pressure in my sinuses, just like right behind my uvula. I haven't gone to a doctor yet because im seeing if this is a common thing that can be treated at home. Or maybe i will have to get my tonsils removed because like my dentist said they are really big and have a lot of crevices that food gets lodged in occasionally.

And also if i do manage to get a little something from sucking on the back of my throat the relief is very very brief and I feel pressure again in less than an hour.

I still do not know exactly what it is but I found (kind of) a treatment. They sell these "wubble tiny Brite" Ballons at some stores, you blow them up using a straw type thing but when I blow it up it puts enough pressure behind my uvula that after a few blows it breaks the mucus chunk free.

I posted about the same thing a few months ago. It turns out for me that it’s hormone related - caused by low estrogen and estrogen fluctuations. I was fine before my hysterectomy (which was 7 months ago) - then it all started almost immediately afterwards. I went to 2 different ENTs - one agreed it was hormones (as his wife had just had a baby so he knew how hormones can affect sinus and mucus. I went on to Estrogen HRT (Evorel 75 patches) and also Flixonase steroid nasal drops (400mg strength- so Very strong!). I find putting lemon juice in my water helps a lot. Also sniffing salt water every night helps. It’s because of in women estrogen is responsible  (among other things) for keeping saliva viscous and thin. When estrogen levels drop - saliva and mucus thickens, gets sticky and dries up - causing that lump feeling as it collects and sits behind your uvula. You may also get a dry mouth and throat. Mines improved since I’ve been on HRT (took about 5 months though) and the steroid drops helped too. Avoid eating raw onion and things that dry your mouth. Avoid sugar too. Eat lemons, fruits etc - things that stimulate saliva. Hope this helps.

0of, idk what it might be for me then. (I'm male)
haha - ok so maybe not. I do find that Flixonase (might other name outside UK) steroid nasal drops - 400 mg strength- really help though. I would suggest them. They are on prescription only. I took them for 2 months. They reduce any inflammation (you have to put your down - between your knees when using the drops and hold position for about 3 minutes). Also - What you want to do is create thin the mucus - so it doesn’t get stuck. Lemon juice helps; sniffing salt water; exercise that gets you hot and sweaty - ie makes your nose runny etc.
