Help something is going on with my throat

Exactly one month ago I started having this weird sensation on the very back of my tongue.  It almost felt like there was a hair stuck in the back of my mouth on my tongue.  As days went on I tried several things such as scrapping my tongue to remove the hair.  But the feeling never went away.  Eventually I began to feel discomfort in my mouth and throat.  Now for several wks. I will wake up feel nothing and by noon I begin to feel the sensation that something is in the back of my mouth and by night the left side of my throat is sore almost like a burning feeling and the back left side of my tongue feels as though I have biten it.  The sensation of hair on my tongue is on both sides.  I took a tongue depresser tonight and did not notice anything on my tongue but I did notice a cluster of red/light almost blister like bumps on the back of my throat.  I do not have a cough or fever, hoarness or difficulty swallowing with these symptoms.  And I do not believe its contagious because neither my childeren or husband has experienced these symptoms.  The left side of my head sometime feels numbs but I associate this with my tongue pain which causes the left side of my head to ache including my ear.  I am a social drinker although I have drank in awhile and I smoke on occassion.  Not very often and havent in a while.  Since this has been going on for one month I'm very scared can anyone help.

I have just started the hair on the back of the throat feeling.... for about three days....what the heck!
