Intense sore throat. Need HELP

I have a very intense sore throat. Here are my details:

Very sore throat
I cough sometimes but ONLY because of the scratchiness in my throat
I do not have a runny nose
I do not sneeze
I was coughing up bloody mucus the first couple days of being sick
Sometimes in the day I just feel really like **** with no energy But sometimes I feel "ok"
It all started on tuesday night online. I started feel a slightly sore throat.
Then when I woke up wednesday morning I was full blown SICK with the sore throat. I stayed in bed half the day. I just had no energy, I had a spinning head etc.

The main problem now is the throat. I'm going on day 4 now and I figured that by now it would at least start getting better but it's not. It's terrible and I can't sleep because when I swallow, I cringe. I can't stand this! What does it sound like my problem is?

Have you tried  anything to relieve it? The throat being sore is one of the first indicators of a virus or infection. Try gargling with mild salt and lukewarm water solution. Are the glands along the neck swollen and tender, if so likely an infection? If accompanied by fever and fatigue likely a cold! If you have a hoarse voice as a result then your problem is in the larynx. Not to try to worry you but tonsillitis and mononucleosis start with a sore throat. The height of the fever and duration and depth of the illness should be your signal to see a doctor. I would try Echinacea and Goldenseal Extract 3x/day, if after trying for a day and the symptoms persist see a doctor. The blood in the mucus could be that the swelling is very severe, don't wait too long.

Honestly, Ergh anything that lasts more than a few days, you should definitely go to the doctor. The blood is something I would get checked out. I really hope you feel better and I hope somebody who has had something similar cn help you.
Get better and take motrin which should take away the pain at least and the throat swelling. But it wn't get better on its own and teh longer you fo without sleep, the less able you're body is able to fight it off. Please keep us posted on what this is if you see a doctor and if new symptoms develop.
