Intentional Temporary deafness

Is there a way for a person to temporarily cause themselves to be deaf?  A liquid dropped into the ear or a pill to take.  Not something visible like an ear plug (which would only cause partial deafness).  Serious, mature, answers only please.

Not that I know of.

You might go deaf from massive doses of IV antibiotics or chemo drugs, but that's not exactly a do-it-yourself thing, and not exactly temporary.

I have no idea why you're asking, but if you are by chance planning to try to fool an audiologist during a hearing test, don't even think about it. You cannot fool a trained audiologist into thinking you have a hearing loss when you don't. They can tell, and not just by intuition.

If you just need some peace and quiet, use earplugs and pillows smushed against your head on both sides.

Good luck with whatever problem you have that caused you to ask this.
