Is this tonsillitis?

I had a really bad cough last week and I thought I was over it, but this week I noticed my right tonsil a little swollen. It way worse on Thursday than it is now, and I'm wondering if I've got tonsillitis. I don't have any white spots on the actual tonsils, but I do have this weird looking white shapes behind them. The only day that I really felt sick was on Thursday, other than that, I've been taking an anti-inflammatory twice a day and that has helped me while the effect lats. Other than that, i really don't have any other symptom, it's only my right tonsil that's bothering me, and I've got the white stuff behind both.

Thanks!

In the picture, my right tonsil is the left one.

Thanks for your input.

To answer your question, I've had plenty of throat pain, and after the effect of the anti-inflammatory is gone, it's really painful to swallow—I can still swallow food though, it just hurts. It's the very first time I'm having tonsil issues though...

Thank you for your advice, I'll be sure to do the gargles!

Hi,

This is appears to be a picture of Chronic tonsillitis. As of now, do you have any pain/fever/throat pain/difficulty in swallowing?

I would advice you to try drinking plenty of warm water and do gargles with povidone iodine (1:1 dilution) 3-4 times/day after food.

I don't think it is a tonsilith for several reasons.  One you feel the irritataion.  Usually with tonsiliths you don't notice them unitl the come out/are coming out.  They are also ball shaped - that is not what I see.  Third you have been sick.  I suggest you wait a few days and if it doesn't clear up see the dr.  It could be an infection, but hopefully viral that will go away on its own.

Feel better.
