Jaw, throat and back pain

10 days ago I woke up in the night with severe pain under my skull by my neck and into my right ear.
I started taking prednizone and zithromax 3 days ago.  Doctor said my neck glands we very swollen and my ears were not draining.  I can breath normally and do not feel like it is allergy related.  Now I will all of a sudden get a burning pain from the back of my jaws down my throat and into my back.  It is burning when I breath and difficult to breath.  I will immediately take 800mg of Ibuprofen and it relieves the pain.  The pain continues to return.  Any ideas?

Hello Bubbles

I understand all your symtoms I had TMJ yes It does travel down my neck and also to the top of my shoulder blades!

I also get ear pressure, headaches, face pain and blocked sinus! Addidionatl to your symtoms I would suggest that you also suffer with Anxiety. This will highlight any symtoms you have and make them appear much worse.

I feel pressure in both ears.  Had an MRI of jaw to rule out TMJ.  Unsure what it would be but the pressure travels from jaw down neck.  Could it be related to thyroid?

Did the doctor suggest you going for a ct or mri of neck?  mri is preferrable; it gives better image.
