Labyrinthitis again

Labyrinthitis again

I woke up yesterday with extreme dizziness and vertigo. Everything was spinning when I turned my head. I experienced both physical spinning of objects which is actual vertigo and a feeling of spinning but no movement of objects. I went to a doctor I've never been to because I don't have a primary care physician since I moved out of state.

He diagnosed me with viral labryinthitis. I had the same thing in July '06. I took antivert twice and woke up today with less spinning. I seem okay today except for feeling a bit off. Should I continue to take the antivert which doesn't treat anything but the symptom of dizziness if I am no longer experiencing full vertigo/dizzy feeling today?

Why do I keep getting this terrible sickness? This is the second time in one year and the third time in my life. I've had bad ears since I was little and had to get tubes in them and my adenoids (adenoids) removed. I haven't had ear infections since I was little but am now experiencing this labryinthitis what seems to be more frequently. Is there anything I can do to avoid this illness? I seem to be prone to it and it is HORRIBLE. Any advice would be wonderful. Also, if anyone has an alternative diagnosis that I can look into, please let me know. I mentioned Meniere's to the doctor and he brushed it off saying that I don't have the same symptoms as someone with the diseases and that I didn't have it. Thanks!

Sorry I posted on my own string. I guess I answered my own question. I didn't take the meds for 1/2 a day and got dizzy again. This is not good. I hope it goes away!
