Laryngitis for 2 months

I have hoarseness of varying extremes for 2 Months. I have been evaluated by an ENT, who said it was laryngitis. This was a month ago and I am still experiencing problems. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so what was the outcome. I am getting thoroughly disgusted and scared. As I am a smoker of 30+ years. I guess no lesions were seen. He performed a flexible laryngoscopy and said my throat was swollen and in flammed. PLEASE HELP if you can. Thanks. I am having problems with health care due to my insurance. I usually get written a script for something and sent away. I also have CNS Demyelinating Disease.

Hi My Father is experiencing the same problem with th swollen and inflammed throat and has been to the Local Doctor, had exrays, ct scans, and been to the ENT, They have told him it is still Laryngitis and has sent him off with Antibitocs. He is in alot of pain due to this and has a real problem trying to speak, we cannot understand him, he is alot of pain. He has recently given up smoking and has also go Spinal Canal Stenosis, Do you know of anything else he maybe able to try?
