Long period of discomfort on throat

I have been experiencing some serious discomfort on my throat for a long period of time, more than a year. I have seen doctors to diagnose the problem, and they said that it was a swelling on my throat. I've had endoscopy and CT scan and other tests and they all showed no signs of any problem. The ear, nose & throat doctor believes that the cause of the problem is the stomach acid that has come up the throat and caused the swelling. He has prescribed me the medicine to stop the acid, but even after taking the medicine for months, it has not helped at all. There is no real pain - just very uncomfortable. It feels like something is stuck on my throat. I believe it is a throat inflammation, although I am not sure since I am not a medical professional. Could I get some help with this? Thank you.
