Loud crackling sound in my ear when I swallow

I have been dealing with a loud crackling sound mainly in my left ear for the last two years. It all started during a cold in Sep of 2010. I went to my doctor who diagnosed me with otitis media and prescribed me antibiotic ear-drops. The problem never went away and I developed tinnitus on top of that. I then saw an ENT who told me to take an OTC antihistamine or decongestant, and Afrin nasal spray. Neither of these worked. I cant get in to see a different ENT for a few months and need advice on how to treat this crackling noise that happenes every time I swallow and is very loud. I have pretty much gotten used to the tinnitus. I am think I may have an Eustachian tube disorder.
