Lump in neck

In 2002, I noticed a lump in the side of my neck about the size of a small pea. The doctor in the state where I lived at the time said we would monitor it and if it grew, perform a biopsy. I moved to another state and after a while, it did begin to grow. I went to my new doctor and he ordered i believe a CT scan. He said that most likely it was scar tissue around a lymph node. Since then, it has grown to about the size of a walnut and he doesn't seem concerned.

I have also formed some weird growth inside my nose, on the side of the bridge. We ran tests on that and he said it looked like bone and "is probably just the way my face is made" but this is new. It hasn't always been there. Both of these issues are on the right side of my body.

During this time, I have been suffering from debilitating headaches, i believe to be sinus headaches. When I get one, it is almost impossible to function. If I sit up too fast, it feels like my brain is banging against my skull. I worked with a MSN and she said it's possible the scar tissue on the lymph node is disrupting the flow of my sinuses causing the headaches.

Part of me wants to just trust my doctor because I don't want it to be anything serious. The other part of me is concerned. The growth in my neck is now visible to the naked eye. And the majority of my headaches are focused on the right side of my head. Is this something serious or should I be just as blase as my dr. is?

OK, the neck mass should not be ignored.  It is hopefully and likely benign, but given the characteristics you described, a biopsy is mandatory.

Secondly, the mass would have no way of causing sinus problems.  Headaches are far more commonly caused by problems other than sinus disease anyway.  It is very possible that you may have a couple of (unrelated) diagnoses.

You need to see an ENT doctor.
