Lump in throat

About 8 months ago now, I looked in the mirror at my mouth (was checking something with my teeth) and I noticed I had an extremely swollen right tonsil. I was kinda taken aback about it being as though I ha no additional symptoms at all. I went to my doctor about it and he said it wasn't anything to worry about, that sometimes during puberty, people get that and it never goes away in some cases. Now, don't get me wrong, i trust my doctor, but the thought of it still bothers me a lot. Recently I have had problems with my breathing and NO ONE can figure out what it is. I've had bretahing tests done and xrays, and still found nothing. I'm starting to wonder if maybe it has something to do with my swollen tonsil, maybe enough air is not getting through or something because of it. They could be two totally seperate things, I was just wondering what the cause of the swollen tonsil might be. Btw its a round ball about the size of a quarter, maybe a bit smaller. It used to have white blistery spots on it, but now those seem to have turned into scar type things.
