"MRI AND IAC"? - WHAT'S THAT?
MY MOM HAS HX OF ACOUSTIC NEUROMA. SHE HAS HAD PAIN AND SWELLING IN THE SIDE OF HER NECK FOR SEVERAL MONTHS...ENT DID A SED RATE WHICH CAME BACK NORMAL; NOW SHE'S SCHEDULING AN MRI AND WHAT LOOKS LIKE ON THE CARD, "IAC"...WHAT'S THAT? THANKS!

IAC = internal auditory canal, where acoustic neuromas grow. They look there specifically with the MRI. Good luck to her. (Hopefully they also ordered contrast with the MRI, or the MRI facility will know to use it when looking for acoustic neuroma.)
