MRSA internal damage

MRSA internal damage

I contracted MRSA fm an IV in an ER where I was held overnight for observation for a possible TIA.  A week later in the night I noticed that the area above the IV point (which had been bothering me) was very swollen, hard and hot.  I returned to the ER.  They admitted me, put me in isolation, administered Zyvox (IV), gave me shots of blood thinner in my stomach, and after 3-4 days, when the swelling had gotten worse decided to open my arm and remove a clogged vein.  I was discharged on the 12th day and given prescription for Zyvox for 7 more days.  What I need to know most now is:  What is the probability that damage was done to internal organs in the week between the infection and the beginning of treatment?  Secondly, does this sound like correct treatment protocol for situation given what I have told you?  Thanks.
