NEED HELP

I am a 63 year old female and on Sunday started feeling dizzy.  Monday went to the  Dr and was diagnosed with Vertigo.  The pills do not seem to help and last night I barely kept my self from falling, I have a fullness in my ear,  like water, and voices on the phone sound funny.
I seem to be gettin worse instead of better

Sirjoseph is absolutely right--vertigo is a SYMPTOM, not a DIAGNOSIS.

Your doctor should have done a quick test in the office (using a tuning fork) to determine whether your hearing problem is CONDUCTIVE (involving the middle ear, which is probably not permanent or serious) or SENSORINEURAL (involving the inner ear or hearing nerve, which IS serious and urgent).

If it is a sudden sensorineural hearing loss, you need to be seen immediately by an ENT.

If your doctor did not do any kind of hearing test on you, go directly to see an ENT without delay!

It is probably nothing serious, but there is no way to be sure of that unless you've been examined (other than just peeking into your ear), and many GPs just ignore such symptoms until it's too late and a hearing loss is permanent.

vertigo is a symptom, and should never be a diagnosis. it sounds like a harmless ear infection to me, but vertigo is a horrible feeling when it wont go away.
