Nasal Mucosa Loss?

Nasal Mucosa Loss?

7 years ago I had Deviated Septum surgery, went very well.. no complications. About a year later I noticed that the left side of my nose (side where stitching, etc was done) never seemed to heal & it would cause scabbing & bleeding. I went to an ENT & they he told me he was unsure of the cause & did a biopsy which was fine.   I went several years without insurance & here I am, 7 years later & it is still happening & out of control now. My nose constantly fills up with what I like to call "goo" on that side & the scabbing is so bad that it blocks my breathing ability-especially while sleeping. If the scab is removed, I have very intense bleeding, so bad that I have to just lean over a sink to let the blood flow.. if I tilt my head back, I will begin to cough & choke due to the amount. Also there will be large "clots" of blood.

Just went to new ENT & he is not optimistic. He has said that I seem to have no mucosal lining on the left side of my nose. At this point, he asked me to try Bacitracin for two weeks but even when telling me to do that, he said he did not feel it would work but is the least invasive 1st step. He said the tissue that is there looks extremely "macerated" for some reason.

I know each case is different & without seeing me, no diagnosis can be given.. but any thoughts as to the causes or reasons for the lining to have diminished.   I am going back to him & will continue treatment but just wanted to hear some thoughts. Thanks
