Nasal Rinse

I have an appointment tomorrow with my ENT and will mention the same thing but could use information from any of you as well.

  I have just attempted to use a saline nasal wash to clean the Left nostril.  The right nostril I can squeeze the bottle  and the contents will start coming out my left nostril.  Pinching the left nostril off I can eventually have the bottle contents start to trickle out my throat,  I'm assuming with that description everything is normal(?).  To clean the other, at one point the contents start spilling out the right nostril.  Pinching this off I feel as if I hit a wall with sqeesing the bottle, No more of the contents can be squeezed out and into the left nostril.

  So, I'll assume there is a natural hole between the two nostrils that can be closed by pinching one nostril.  Out side of that there is no other connection between the left and right sinus's(?).  And my Left nostril/Sinus is plugged somehow(?).

  What the ENT and I are attempting to do is to find a problem with my ear,  possibility of and Estatian(?) tube problem.  I just need to know if my description of the anatomy of the nose and sinus is accurate.

Attempted again and this time I got the results expected from the left nostril. Everything worked the way it was sapposed to work.  So, I'm all set now.
