Nasal drainage -
My allergies have been worse than usual and have had stomach aches the last couple of days. I'm pretty sure it's from nasal drainage. I remember my doctor mentioning this a while ago. The problem is, everything that's been prescribed to me for my allergies have been useless and also makes me even sicker. Any suggestions?
you probably have vasomotor rhinitis. I too have the same problem for 6 yrs. now. Nothing helps. oral steroids, steroid nasal sprays, nasal rinses - nothing help. Allergy medications, antibiotics etc. My under eyes , sides of nose on the outside, upper cheek area is swollen also. My ENT from Mayo clinic said this is from Vasomotor rhinitis. there is nothing they can do for this. This has totally ruined my life, I have 24/7 thick post nasal drainage and the inside of my nose burns and also inside my sinuses too. Very depressing to think that a person can be totally healthy and in a snap of a finger your life is shot. and especially that there is not a darn thing that anyone can do for it. Mention vasomotor rhinitis to your ENT doctor and see what he says.
Thanks for sharing Kathy. I'll discuss with my doctor. Mine doesn't sound as advanced as your's, but some days the inside of my nose does burn, because of so much sneezing and blowing. I suspect there's nothing my doctor can say that will help, but will have to go soon since I've had this stomachache for over a week now. It's worrisome. I'm pretty sure it's because of my allergies.
I too have this awful problem, but in addition to this drainage does anyone have awful headaches that are hard to get rid of? I might have a headache on and off for over a 3 week period of time. When I say On that means BAD, and when I say Off, well it's really never gone, its just not so bad, and I can atleast function. Does anyone know what type of medicine to take for this sinus headache? I also get scabs inside my nose. Does anyone else have this problem I would appreciate any advice. I am miserable. I have talked to the doctor and they always just give me allegra or singular and neither one of those touch the problem. Thanks, another K Kathy
Add me to the list......Ive had a headache since 2007 (April) every single day. OTC meds take it away but 5 hours later ITS BACK>
No sinus pressure but I have a very thick sticky discharge coming from my nasal. Had the scab thingy too. Maybe the headache and sinus issue arent even related.
