Neck and Throat discomfort(4 months+)

I got a cold a couple of months ago the mucus went away but i still had a cough. The cough got better but didnt completly go away as it seemed to get better it got really bad. I the started to get this discomfort in my neck near my adams apple primarly on my left side. It felt like pressure on my neck or the feeling when something gets stuck in your throat. It started to go away but then it came back and got really annoying and really uncomfortable. I seeked medical attention by this point and the doctor told me i had strep throat so he gave a shot( i dont remember what is was called) and azithromycin 250mg. I waited a week and it wouldnt go away so i went again and this time he gave me amoxicillin and chlorpheniramine which help but only slighty. I ended up going for a third visit and he gave me keflex and singular and once again it helped just slightly with just the throat irritation. I still have this throat irritation and discomfot in my neck near my adams apple. On the third visit i asked if it might be thrush but he siad it didnt seem likely. The back of my throat is still red and their is tiny raised bumps on what i believe is the uvula and pharynx.The left side of my adams apple seems rather tender and i wake up with sore neck in the mornings. I would also like to note that a couple of days after the first antibiotic treatment i got a rash on the head of my penis(not itchy or painful) that hasnt gone away with lotrimin.Ive have had no sexual contact. Im getting really frustrated by this point with having to deal with this for months now i would love to get another opnion before i visit the doctor since going to the doctor with no insurance and unemployed isnt easy on the wallet.
