Neeed Help regarding ear pain

Hi ,
today one of my close friend have experienced sudden pain inside his ear but it ended

within few minutes. I insisted him to go for an ENT doctor, but he refused. Can anybody

tell what may be the reason for such pain? Thank you

Hello and hope you are doing well.

The ear ache could be due to otitis interna (inner ear infection). This is all the more significant if there has been discharge. This occurs more commonly if there is a throat infection. The other common causes for pain are cerumen (ear wax) impaction, otitis  externa and inflammations. He may need to consult his primary care physician who will examine him and initiate appropriate therapy.
