One month foreign body sensation tonsil

I have a sensation of something stuck in my tonsil, like a fish bone or popcorn kernel for weeks, it's in my left tonsil and I can pinpoint the spot. I went to my GP then an ENT and they could find nothing, other than some inflammation because of a cold (but the sensation preceded the cold). I do occasionally get tonsil stones that I scrape out with a spoon, the ENT thought I could have injured my tonsil doing this. Could this be true, could a scrape feel like something is stuck in there and could the feeling last so long? It's not painful but uncomfortable.

I am worried it's something ominous but my ENT reassured me there's nothing suspicious (he checked my throat with some kind of scope and mirror,checked my ears, and nose and lymph nodes in my neck and collarbone, etc.) and to just stop thinking about it. But could it be a tumor that is just beginning?

I forgot to add I have post nasal drip and often have an irritated throat but never anything like this.
