Phlegm buildup in throat

Hello,
I have this condition where phlegm accumulates in my throat to the point where I must clear it while making unpleasant hawking noises. It feels like a lump is stuck to my throat which remains even after clearing it - although the unpleasant feeling does lessen. I've been having this issue since I was a child (I am 25 now). I've been to several ENT doctors, and even a few allergy and lung doctors. They say that everything looks healthy except that there seems to be excessive phlegm. Allergy testing came negative though they don't count for much. I tried taking allergy pills and nasal sprays which did not help; tried pills that reduce stomach acidity which did not help; tried refraining from eating meat, milk, and wheat products (not simultaneously) for about a week which did not help. I took a CT scan (which I can upload for your reference if necessary), which other than showing that my nasal passages are very narrow, showed nothing abnormal. Doctors at this point basically tell me to keep baring it and live with it.

I'd like to say it is extremely unpleasant in the least to live with it - it seems to strengthen as I lay down which heavily bothers my sleep; I am a very light sleeper and I often end up clearing my throat every few minutes for nearly an hour before managing to fall asleep. Being around other people is also difficult as I need to constantly go the the bathroom every now and then and clear my throat to the sound of the toilet flushing so that they wouldn't notice it as much. Is there anything that you would recommend I do or could you refer me to a specialist who might be able to help me?
Thank you for your time.

Just posted my own question when I saw this post. I have literally the same exact symptoms as you and I'm at my breaking point with this awful problem. Hoping someone can give one of us some answers or suggestions!

By any chance, do your vocal passages make a funny noise when you speak?
