Plugged ears since quitting smoking

I quit smoking over 1 month ago and have had blocked ears ever since!  I've tried ear drops, and every other at home method of clearing ones ears to no avail.  Today I am trying sudafed as I don't have health insurance and cant afford to see a doctor right now.  Have you ever heard of blocked ears when not smoking any more?  Maybe the drawing affect of the smoke helps keep the ear canals open?

smoking tends to damage the tiny hairs inside of the eustachian tube so im not quite sure how quitting would cause that..you quitting and you ear trouble may be unrelated and it just was coincidence that this happened. smoking does however lower your immunity to environmental irritants so maybe your body is reacting to something else such as allergies causing you to have excessive drainage from sinuses??? by the way i have a horrible case of clogged painful ears right now and it is truly miserable! on and use sudefed with pseudoefedrine behind the drug counter,it works much better...or try a combined antihistimine/decongestant like claritin D. its also behind the counter but without prescription. do warm wet towel compress on your ears..heat up a wet towel in the microwave.
