Thanks for your response. I am continuning the salt water gargles three to four times a day, but my left tonsil is still swollen. I have been referred to an ENT. I'm very scared and panicky of what he may do, but I have to do what's best for me and my unborn child. I will keep you posted.

Hello and hope you are doing well.

The common causes for difficulty in swallowing are enlarged tonsils and GERD. Gastro esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is caused due to reflux of acid from the stomach into the esophagus. There may be persisting tonsillitis. Repeated salt water gargles will help. Mix one teaspoon of salt in 1 cup of warm water and gargle. Do this prior to your meals. If the problem gets worse or become painful then consult your doctor.

Hope this helped and do keep me posted.
