Recurrent Ear infection/fungus?
I'm female in early 40's and have always had problems with ear infections.  I've had them yearly for several years and now in the last few years about 4-5 times a year.  One dr said it was a fungus.  Drops he gave me worked but now if I go swimming or even get water in my ear in the shower my ear first gets all scaley then 'plugs' up.  I thought it was the fungus returning but my dr said it was a bacterial infection that loves water not a fungus?  I'm confused as all my ear infections have been extremely painful.  Is this fungul or infection?  How can I treat it and how can I keep it from returning?
