Recurring very painful sore throat

Hi everyone.
I have been experiencing recurring sore throats with flu like symptoms about once a month or once every 2 months for about a year. My lymph nodes become extremely swollen, my back aches, my ears ache, I have hot and cold flashes and fever, and I sleep for entire days. After about 5 days it goes away completely, but then a month or 2 later it comes back full force. I have been in contact with people when I have it, and no one else ever gets infected with whatever it is. I don't have insurance at this juncture but am highly considering getting some to go get checked out. I was just wondering if anyone else has anything like this, or has had anything like this?
