Root canal caused bad sinus infection

In february I had a root canal on a infected tooth . I took amox clav before doing the  root canal. A day later I feel numbness and cold/hot flashes on my left side. They thought it was bells palsy and gave me meds. It seem to lessen however 3 weeks later I cant breathe right through  my nose, feels like im suffocating. Its been very difficult ever since. I ve been to every specialist , took mri , cat scan. shows mild sinusitis however ive been on antibiotics for 3weeks and no relief. I m wondering if my nasal cavity was punctured and never healed. Would an MRI or sinus scan show it? I cant eat or sleep. Life is not enjoyable and at this point im terrified. Im going to an ENT see if he can help me.

Hi Kidgie an ENT is a good idea.  I had a root canal and wound up with the infection eating my cheekbone!  It was awful, the tooth was so infected the tissues behind it were as well and I wound up having the tooth pulled AFTER the canal was done and they had to suck out all the infection.  I was put on really strong antibiotics.  My sinus cavity was filled with infection as well so it could be the infection spread, glad you are seeing the dr to get to the bottom of things.

thanks for your post. Did you go to an oral surgeron? Was it hard for you to breath?
