Smelly Mucus

For the past week, my muscus has been bright green and smelly.  I don't have a runny nose or cough.  The mucus seems to be coming up my throat quite regularly throughout the day, leaving me with a horrible taste in my mouth.  If i do happen to blow my nose, i am left with a disgusting smell in my nostrils and in the tissue of course.  Is this a sinus infection?

I've had the same sinus problem for 5 years now. It started with a bad cold, hay fever, then a cold, and sinus green smelly mucus. Sometimes you don't have control over it and  you feel a fishy smell. When you blow your nose its green thick, and yellowish mucus. The smell is horrible,...i've tried saline wash, doctor visit only gave me claritine sinus pills (more like over the counter)
What helps?---DO NOT DRINK MILK. Milk and anything that is DAIRY has affected me. I now drink lots of water and oragnge juice seems to help. I don't think these green mucus are leaving anytime soon. Ive tried expectorants of all sorts.

I have had the same problem ever since I can remember, but I have had no luck. I am now 50.  I have used all the sprays and the only thing that works for a few hours is the salt and baking soda solution that I do in the morning and in the evening. It washes out the sinusis and it helps me to breathe better. I hope this helps.  Use the course salt, not the regular cooking salt and bakind soda.  Also boil the water, do not use the water from the tap directly
