Hi,

Usually the penicillin group of drugs do not cause so much of heart burn/ gastritis. For few individuals any drug might cause gastritis. Second thing is, if your tonsillitis is not reducing with these drugs you can try taking cephalosporin group of drugs. Also do gargles with Povidone iodine, take medicines for your acidity and drink plenty of warm water. Avoid taking chilled items.  Any more doubts you are welcome.

I went to the doctors last week and she looked into my throat and my tonsils were big. I've got one more day of taking the pills and I will see what happens. Someone told me Penicillan can use more harm than good!

Hi...antibiotics can cause heartburn and acid reflux in that they kill off all bacteria...unfortunately we need good bacteria to help us digest our food. SO it feels like u may have too much acid, when in fact u may not have enuff right now. Ask ur dr about a pro biotic to help with the stomach issues.

R u sure it is  ur tonsils giving u the throat pain....mayb they have to come out?.....

You should call your doctor and leave a message with them.  They will want to know you are having problems with the antibiotics.  I'm not exactly sure what the side effects are, but you can call your doctor or ask the pharmacy.  They may even change the type of antibiotic if it's not working for you.  Good luck.
