Sore Throat for almost a month and Red Bumps

Hello,

I am a 20 year old Male. As of 3 1/2 weeks ago I started to develop basic cold symptoms: started with a mild sore throat, then stuffy nose, then a slight "itchy" cough. Both the stuffy nose and cough subsided within a few days and the sore throat lessened. However, over the next week and a half I remained to have a sore throat that was prevalant at night and hurt most when waking up. (it seemed to disappear during the day). I checked the back of my throat and found red bumps along it. I finally decided to go to the local health center and they did a culture swab to test for Strep. It initially came back negative but then I was given a call a few days later that Streptococcal Group C showed up slightly. From what I understand Group C is uncommon in humans and more common in animals. I have no idea how I managed to contract that as I don't live with any animals or come in contact with any practically ever. Anyways, I was prescribed Penicillin VK, and was to take 1 pill 3 times a day (each pill is 500mg). I began taking them and I now have 2 left. My issue is this:

As of yesterday my sore throat has slowly began to RETURN. The bumps in my throat have not gone away, and the only notable change that may just be me thinking this, is that the redness of my throat has gone down. What is wrong with me? I've taken 28 pills of Penicillin (500mg each) for 9 days and I've seen no improvements and if anything it has now gotten worse than the initial stages (as my throat is hurting during the day now). I'm really concerned as it's been nearly a month now with this.

I'll also note, that I've had no sore throat, and no other abnormal symptoms really.

Thanks in advance for any and all comments/help!!
