Strep B Beta in non pregnant female!!

Ok not only was I diagnosed with HSV 1 and 2 like a month and a half ago.. I was in the emergency room for a throat culture due to continues throat pain.Three days later I am told I have Strep B Beta with Hus I guess meaning it is viral and I have to let it run its path..Also with E.Coli(small amounts) What is going on here? I was not prescribed any antibiotics... All I can find is information with pregnant women...frustrating..Also would this have anything to do with the new HSV viruses I have contracted??

Hello all, first off I am so thankful I found this site because there is little to no information on GBS. About a year ago I started to notice my vagina getting extremely dry, it would crack then peel. The cracks were similar to tiny paper cuts all over my clitouris. There was no smell or discharge so I went awhile thinking it was just dry skin. Well after about six months of dealing with the severe dry skin I went to my gyno. He told me it was a yeast infection so I took four or five pills but they didn't cure it. Then I went back and they found that I had group b strep on my vagina and anus. They prescribed me some amoxicillin for a week. That didn't work. They then prescribed me some more amoxicillin for ten days and that didn't work. Now I am waiting for them to return my call to find out what to do next. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but when I was five years old I was diagnosed with primary peritinitis and almost died. I'm now wondering if I have had GBS my whole life.
I've attempted to try taking garlic pills and I have tried to take an Epsom salt bath. Both seem to help but every now and then something causes it to flare up again. It's been a terrible experience. My boyfriend of four years haven't been able to have sex and this whole thing has caused a huge drop in my self esteem. I wish someone would find out what causes this or a cure.

Thank you!! I went to an ENT doctor and he prescribed me Amoxicillin-Clauvetene 875-125 I have been on it for3 days and feel better already!! I do not know if you know this but can strep b and E.coli give me a false positive for hsv ...My reasoning is because when your body fight infections it produces IGG..and at the time of my test I have had this infection for 2 1/2 months maybe..It is a long shot but no one seems to have answers...They only say that The IGG For HSV is specific..But as I am learning thats not entirely true?? any thought??

The commonest pathogen (agent) causing throat infections is a group A Streptococcus bacteria. Besides this Group B Streptococcus, mycoplasma, neisseria and  corynebacterium  are known to cause throat infections. Other known pathogens causing infections of the throat are viral and yeast (candida).

The reason for elaborating about these pathogens is that the tests done and the therapy initiated vary for the listed pathogens. To begin with a throat swab is taken to see for streptococcus. If needed a throat culture will show the growth and the antibiotics to which the pathogens are most susceptible to. During culture it would be worthwhile to test for yeast infections also besides bacterial infections. Viral infections are by exclusion and do not need any antibiotic therapy unless there are superadded infections. Viral infections are known to cause canker sores. The antibiotic of choice for a streptococcal infection is penicillin.
