Submandibular gland enlarged

The clinically palpable lump is found to be swollen right submandibular gland which has some mixed echotexture.This gland measures about 35mm * 14 mm.It is also hyper vascular.The left submandibular gland is small and is normal and measures about 32 mm * 8 mm.The echotexture of the left submandibular gland is homogeneous and is normal.Slight dilation of the duct in the submandibular gland is also seen.
No cervical lymphadenopathy is seen. A small bengin reactive lymph node is seen in the right posterior triangle. There is 4mm hypoechoic nodule in the left lobe of the thyroid posteriorly. This again appears bengin. The echotexture of the thyroid parenchyma is homogeneous and is normal.
Impression:- The above findings are consistent with an inflammed swollen right submandibular gland. The small thyroid nodule on the left side can be followed up in ! years time.
