Throat pain for about 3 weeks....Please help!

Hi, im a 25 year old female and for the last 3 weeks or so i have been feeling off balance.  It started as my throat hurting and i went to see the doc she told me it was viral and i should be ok , then my gland started to swell so i took Augmentin 875 for 7 days and it seemed to get better.  2 days after finishing the antibiotic, my gland started to bother me again.  Now the gland that was originally swollen is fine, and now the left side of my throat hurts, especially when i swollow, i feel like there is a bruise. it also hurts when i open my mouth wide.  i have no other symptoms, no fever, chills, not even the feeling of being tired, just an ocassional post nasal drip from my allergies.   Do you think this is something serious??? should i get blood tests done? or can this be just a way the virus is making its way through my body?---Thank You.
