Thrush (Candida Albicans)

I had a throat culture done to determine if I currently had thrush. However, I have been taking antibiotics for a chronic sore throat (Sulfameth). Would the candida be able to grow in the culture and could I consider this test accurate? From what I understand candida thrives when on antibiotics. Thank you!

It's most likely the antibiotics that cause your overgrowth. Antibiotics kill the friendly bacteria that keep the Yeast in our bodies at the normal levels. With nothing to keep it at bay it rapidly grows anywhere it can.
