Tinitus

I have Tinitus on Left Hand Side only and it seems in come from somewhere at the back of my head. It is a rushing noise and varies in frequency between 1kHz and 5 kHz. The thing is I only have it for 3 days at a time. On the 3td/4th and 5th days there is silience.

If I am going to have a bad day it will be there as soon as I wake up. On the 3rd day it will go while I am asleep and when I wake it will be gone. l

Can be aggravated by sleeping in the chair, red wine, noise, sometime not always.

Have been to hospital (Royal Surrey) who told me it was anxiety and sent me back to GP. The GP told me I needed Coginitive Therapy but because I was not bad enough I had no chance of getting it in Guildford.

It is very bad sometimes and matches any noise level. It is spoiling my enjoyment of life in general if have any ideas please let me know. Thanks

Hello.  Have you had a hearing test done?  I have the same kind of tinnitis and finally caved and went to ENT doctor to have it checked out.  He ordered a hearing test and discovered I have conductive hearing loss with fluid behind my ear.  It's nice to know I wasn't imagining that annoying roar in my ear.  If you haven't had one I would suggest starting there.  Good luck!
