Tonsil stones

I have a swollen tonsil that is not painful. After reading different posts about tonsil stones, I took a q-tip and pushed it and these disgusting yellow chunks came out. So, I guess I do have tonsil stones. My question is how long after you express the stones does it normally take for the swelling of the tonsil to go down?

It may be hard to say the swelling was from that one stone. If it was, within days. Many tonsils have multiple crypts and multiple stones...

my daughter tonsil is swollen,she can hardly eat & her nose has been running for about 4 months now
